Torment: Tides of Numenera has been delayed a few times, most recently to early 2017, but there’s a silver lining: The fantasy role-playing game will now be released simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Developer InXile Entertainment is working with Techland on the console versions, which Techland will publish, the companies announced today. Gamescom attendees will be able to check out the ports in person.
“After the critical and commercial success of Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut on consoles, and with fans clamouring for it, it had been in our plans to bring Torment: Tides of Numenera to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One,” said Brian Fargo, inXile CEO, in a press release. “We’re especially excited to be partnering with Techland, who as developers themselves perfectly understand how to do a release without any compromise to the quality of the title.”
Techland previously announced that it was bringing Torment: Tides of Numenera to retail through its new Techland Publishing label. We’ve reached out to the company to ask if the game’s console versions will also be available on disc, and we’ll update this article with any information we receive.
Torment: Tides of Numenera is set for release in the first quarter of 2017 on Linux, Mac and Windows PC, along with PS4 and Xbox One. For more details, check out the trailer above announcing the console versions.
